Disenchantment of the Decieved: HCL recruits express their thoughts

As many people would be aware, about 6500 campus recruits of HCL technologies from the batch of 2012 from all over India had not been given a firm date of joining more than one year after passing out of college, even though they all had LOIs (letters of intent or offer letters) from the company. HCL cited profitability concerns and lowered growth forecasts as the reason for the delays in issuing joining letters.

In all major regions of the world, the economic recession is deep-seated, resulting in mass unemployment, the collapse of state social programs and the impoverishment of millions of people. The governments who helped the private corporations and banks with fiscal stimulus packages and bailouts are advocating austerity measures with cuts in spending on welfare schemes and silently supporting the layoffs. Specific to IT industry, NASSCOM has projected around 14 percent growth in this sector for the current financial year.
