This is the press note on the proposal for extending the working hours deadline for women employees in IT/ITeS Establishments released by ITEC.
With reference to the news report published in The Hindu, dated 22 September 2011, IT Companies in Karnataka have adopted a resolution urging the Government to extend the working hours deadline for women employees from the existing 8.00 PM to 10.00 PM.
As you might have already noticed from media and other sources, various kinds of cheating are becoming prevalent in the name of IT/ITeS companies for the past few years in India's IT capital, Bangalore. The majority of the victims are from poor or middle class families who are fresh out of their graduation and who are desperate to get a job. Four different cases have been reported in the last few weeks. Electrosys and Ireckonsoft had duped the employees by offering fake jobs for cash.
ITEC as an organization representing IT/ITeS Employees and working for their welfare is concerned about the growing corruption in Government, Political system, Judiciary, Corporate Industry, Media and all sorts of such practices which are draining off the money that could have been utilized for providing public services and goods for all the citizens of India.
